Generating 3D game assets have never been easier

What’s going on: Roblox, online gaming giant, has launched "Cube" which is a generative AI model designed to produce 3D objects. This initial iteration of Cube allows users to craft 3D meshes, essentially digital representations of objects, using simple text prompts like “generate an orange racing car with black stripes.” The model is open-sourced.
What does it mean: Roblox has ambitious plans to expand Cube’s AI capabilities, by adding features such as text generation, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text. These features aim to enhance the interactivity of games by enabling conversational NPCs, narrated gameplay, and voice-activated commands. Cube will eventually be able to handle complex tasks like generating intricate 3D objects and entire scenes. This aligns with Roblox’s long-term goal of achieving “4D creation,” where the fourth dimension represents dynamic interactions between objects, environments, and players.

The Cube is currently in beta and will be accessible to creators later in the week following its demonstration at the Game Developers Conference (GDC).
Once generated, these objects can be fine-tuned within Roblox Studio, offering a process that promises to accelerate content creation for both indie developers and seasoned professionals.

LG dropped a banger AI model, rivaling DeepSeek-R1

What’s going on: Did you know that LG is also working on reasoning AI models?! They just launched a new model called EXAONE Deep, officially entering into the competitive world of AI models. This model builds on the foundation of their earlier EXAONE 3.5, but it’s designed specifically for inference tasks, meaning it’s tailored to process and reason through complex problems efficiently. The 32B version of EXAONE Deep’s performance is on par with the 671 billion parameters version of DeepSeek-R1 at just 5% of its size!
What does it mean: The EXAONE Deep model stands out for its lightweight design, which LG says makes it faster and more cost-effective than many existing options. The model is multi-modal which means it understands text, images and audio, is specialized in math, science, and coding and ready to be used for the enterprise application and agentic workflows.

EXAONE Deep 32B achieved No. 1 on AIME, outperforming competitors with a fraction of their model size. The 7.8B & 2.4B versions also ranked first in all major benchmarks such as GPQA Diamond and LiveCodeBench.
