All eyes on Nvidia stock, ahead of earnings

🖥 Nvidia, a leading chipmaker, is set to announce its Q3 earnings on Nov 20, and investors are excited. Analysts expect Nvidia to report impressive growth, with revenue projected to reach around 💰 $33B, marking an 📈 82% increase from last year.

This surge is largely driven by the rising demand for 🤖 AI products and services. Rick Schafer, an analyst at Oppenheimer, believes Nvidia will continue to thrive due to strong demand for its AI accelerators and data center products.

Nvidia's Data Center segment is particularly important, contributing 💸 87% of its revenue and expected to 🔺 grow by nearly 97% year-over-year. The company has also ramped up production of its new Blackwell chips, which are anticipated to be in high demand.

Coca-Cola’s controversial AI-made Ad

🥤 Coca-Cola is facing criticism for its new Christmas ad (watch on YouTube), which was created entirely using 🤖 AI. The ad is a 15-second remake of the beloved "Holidays Are Coming" commercial from 1995 (watch the original here), featuring iconic red trucks and cheerful people.

Many viewers have called the AI-generated video "soulless" and "creepy," feeling it lacks the 🔥 warmth and creativity of human-made ads.

The backlash highlights concerns about AI's role in advertising, especially during the holiday season, which is often associated with 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 family and connection. Experts suggest that people expect traditional storytelling in 🎅🎄 holiday ads, making AI seem out of place. Coca-Cola has previously used AI in marketing but this particular ad has sparked more negative reactions due to its holiday context.

✈ Spirit Airlines has filed for bankruptcy protection due to significant financial struggles, including over $2.5B in losses since 2020 and a failed merger with JetBlue. The airline has secured a $300 million financing deal with bondholders to continue operations and plans to emerge from bankruptcy by early 2025, assuring customers that ticket sales and flights will proceed as normal during the restructuring process.

MicroStrategy has increased its Bitcoin holdings to 331,200 BTC, following the acquisition of 51,780 BTC for approximately 💰 $4.6 Billion. The company now has an average purchase price of $88,627 per Bitcoin. This comes just after the purchase of 27,200 BTC for around $2 Billion. MicroStrategy currently holds more than 1% of Bitcoin’s total supply, reinforcing its position as a significant holder in the market.

Sony is in talks to acquire the anime company, Kadokawa. The talks between the two sides are ongoing and, if successful, a deal could be signed in the coming weeks. Kadokawa's shares closed up 23% at their daily limit. Its market capitalization was around $2.7 billion prior to the original Reuters report about the negotiation. Sony's shares closed up 0.6%.
